Corporate Counsel - biotech

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Counsel to expand our legal team in Antwerp. The role will involve negotiating and drafting R&D contracts, handling corporate governance matters and advising on our strategic transactions.

What will you do?

• Support the company’s financing activities, business development activities and strategic transactions
• Negotiate, draft and follow up on the execution of contracts typical for the life sciences industry, including confidentiality agreements, services agreements, research collaboration agreements and license agreements
• Work closely with the General Counsel to prepare board and shareholder meetings and handle the corporate legal affairs of the Belgian and Spanish legal entities
• Provide legal advice to the wider organization, including on HR, IP, privacy, competition and financial matters
• Look for opportunities to improve the company’s legal processes by using legal tech or legal operations solutions

Who are you?

• You have a master’s degree in law, preferably focused on corporate or IP law
• 5+ years’ experience in an international law firm and/or in-house environment
• Interested in the life sciences industry; experience in an R&D biotech or pharma company is a plus
• Excellent legal drafting skills
• Strong commercial awareness and business sense, including the ability to provide pragmatic advice on contractual and legal risks
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly and autonomously with a wide range of stakeholders
• Your core values include high integrity and ethics
• Fluent in English and Dutch; knowledge of Spanish would be a plus
