Legal Counsel for Benelux

As a Legal Counsel for Benelux, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Review and negotiate commercial contracts, and provide counsel on legal compliance  with a focus on a large environmental remediation project
• Engage with external stakeholders and authorities, provide legal representation, and maintain company interests
• Offer legal advice to 3M Belgium’s different business teams and support functions, manage claims and litigation, and instruct outside counsel
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and build strong working relationships
• Analyze legal issues, identify risks, and develop strategies to protect company interests and counsel regarding regulatory compliance

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Significant post-qualification legal experience, including experience as Belgian attorney-at-law
• Effective communication across all levels, strong interpersonal skills, willingness to engage with stakeholders, and collaborate within the team
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, proactive in identifying risks and offering practical solutions

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Good level of French
• Experience in environmental law
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
