Admission requirements: lawyers working for an entity with normative or monitoring powers

Law degree

You hold a licentiate degree, a Master’s degree or a doctorate in law or in notarial law, issued by a Belgian university or an equivalent foreign degree.

Working for an entity whose main task is to exercise public power

You are bound, via an employment contract or a statute, to an employer that carries out normative or controlling tasks (drafting or enforcing laws) in Belgium and cannot therefore become a company lawyer. This employer is a company, an association of companies or an entity with legal personality.

Mainly legal responsibilities

You provide studies and consultations, draft deeds, provide legal advice and assistance for the benefit of this employer, its affiliated companies or entities, its associations or their members.

Practical information

The annual membership fee is 350 € for each calendar year started.

As an associate member of our organisation, you must abide by the regulations concerning IBJ-IJE associate members.
