I had the pleasure of calling together the new IBJ-IJE Board on 17 February for an intense and rewarding afternoon of work.
With half of the Board renewed, we took the time to get to know each other and clarify the roles and responsibilities of each member, before working in sub-groups on key issues to prepare the Institute and company lawyers for the world of tomorrow.
The discussions focused on three main areas:
- The future of our practice and the role of the IBJ-IJE: impact of artificial intelligence, development of our services and training, etc.
- Our role in society: through the responsibilities we assume on a daily basis as company lawyers, through the promotion of our professional ethics and the positioning of the IBJ-IJE in the face of changes in the law, etc.
- Changes to our legal status: the adjustments needed to strengthen our status while preserving our DNA and ensuring that our expertise is recognised.
We will keep you informed of future projects and initiatives.
I would like to warmly thank the members of the Board for their enthusiasm, commitment, open-mindedness and creativity, which have enriched our discussions. I, for one, particularly appreciated this opportunity to get to know the Board and the collective energy that emerges better.
